How to Improve Call Quality on StrangerCall

Simple steps that usually fix audio problems and make conversations smoother.

1. Check your network

Wi‑Fi is usually fine, but overloaded networks cause dropouts. If voice quality is poor, try switching to a different Wi‑Fi or mobile data for better throughput and lower latency.

2. Use a modern browser

Chrome, Edge, and Firefox have the best WebRTC support. Keep your browser up to date to benefit from codec and network improvements.

3. Headphones + dedicated microphone

Built‑in laptop mics pick up background noise. Use headphones to avoid echo and a headset or external mic for clearer voice capture.

4. Close heavy apps

Cloud backups, large downloads, and streaming apps can saturate uplink/downlink bandwidth. Pause them during calls.

5. Allow microphone access & check permissions

Ensure you've granted the browser microphone permission and that another app isn't holding exclusive access to the mic.

6. Understand STUN vs TURN

Direct peer-to-peer (via STUN) is faster. TURN relays media when direct connections fail; relays can introduce extra latency. We minimize TURN usage but it may help on strict networks.
