Is StrangerCall Safe?
This page explains our safety approach, moderation tools, and what you can expect while using StrangerCall. We aim to provide a fast, anonymous voice experience while keeping users protected and empowered to report misuse.
Safety rules — quick summary
- Respect others: No harassment, threats, or hate speech.
- No sexual content: Nudity, sexual acts, or solicitation are prohibited.
- Keep personal info private: Never ask for or share phone numbers, emails, or identifying details.
- 18+ only: You must be an adult to use this service.
18+ policy and age safety
StrangerCall is intended for adults (18+). We design the experience assuming adult users; parents and guardians should prevent minors from accessing the service. If we receive credible reports or evidence of underage users, we investigate and apply sanctions — warnings, temporary suspensions, or permanent bans.
Privacy and no recording
We do not record or store voice call audio. Where possible, audio is routed peer-to-peer between participants. We may use STUN/TURN relays when direct peer-to-peer is not possible; those relays do not store call media beyond transmission. We retain minimal metadata (connection timestamps, region selection, and anonymized logs) to operate the service, assist moderation, and troubleshoot issues.
In-call reporting & moderation workflow
Use the in-call Report button to flag abusive or policy-violating behavior. When a report is submitted our moderation team receives the anonymized session metadata and any user-provided notes. Moderators review reports and take proportionate action: warnings, short suspensions for repeat minor violations, or permanent bans for severe or repeated abuse. We do not reveal reporter identities to the person being reported.
Safety tips for users
- Do not share personally identifying information (name, phone, email, social handles).
- Use the Mute button if you need a break, and Next to skip uncomfortable conversations.
- If someone persists in abusive behaviour, report them — provide the short note and approximate timestamp to help review.
Comparison vs other anonymous platforms
Compared to some older anonymous chat services, StrangerCall focuses on voice-only pairing with explicit safety tools and a transparent policy. We do not promote video, we provide a one-click report, and we avoid building persistent user profiles. These choices reduce the amount of personal data that can be exposed over time.
Common questions (FAQ)
Do you record or store my conversations?
No — audio is not recorded. We keep only minimal anonymized metadata required for service operation and moderation.
How quickly are reports handled?
Most reports are triaged within 24–72 hours; severe violations are prioritized. Provide details to speed up review.
Can I remain fully anonymous?
Yes — you do not need to register or provide identifying details. However, avoid sharing personal information in calls.
